Is it hard to get invited to NYLF? ›

The National Youth Leadership Forum markets itself as a program exclusively for top students. However, there are no admission criteria for NYLF. Anyone who is currently a high school student can register for and attend an NYLF program. You don't need to have a certain GPA, extracurriculars, or leadership experience.

To attend NYLF Advanced Medicine & Health Care, you must be at least 14 years old and in grades 9-12 during the 2023-2024 school year. Most of our students are either nominated by educators or selected through our academic partnerships. However, we also accept students through our application process.

While the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) is a legitimate program with various sessions targeted at different fields like medicine, engineering, law, etc., it's important to note that it can be quite pricey and is not highly selective.

The acceptance rate for NYLF is not publicly disclosed, but there are reports suggesting that the program is not highly selective. This is because their primary goal is to fill their programs and generate revenue.

Forums are offered in a wide variety of career fields, such as defense, intelligence, diplomacy, law, medicine and technology. Over 100,000 high school and university students have attended NYLF programs.

Nationally, less than 20% of the campus population at our 700+ colleges and universities receive an invitation. The NSLS is accredited through Cognia, which is recognized as a reliable authority concerning the quality of education or training offered by the institutions of higher education or higher education programs.

It's cool that you're interested in the NYLF Medicine program. It's important to keep in mind that the cost of the program varies depending on factors like location, duration, and what the tuition covers. Generally, you can expect the program cost to range from $4000 to $5000.

However the nomination is secured, you must have a demonstrated dedication to entering the medical field, leadership potential, and at least one of the following: A current or cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. An SAT score of 1300+. An ACT score of 22+.

I would highly recommend this program to any parents that would like their child to improve skills of leadership, communication, and teamwork. Through this program, my child envisioned what their future career would be and is more confident in being independent after spending a week on his own on a college campus.

How much do the NYLF Pathways to STEM cost? ›

For the summer 2024 NYLF Business Innovation program, all students are housed on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, CT or University of California, Berkeley Clark Kerr Campus in Berkeley, CA. Room configurations vary by university location.

Students are nominated to attend NYLF programs by teachers or parents. Those who are not nominated but want to attend can choose to nominate themselves. Envision encourages nominations for students who: Show academic and leadership potential.

To attend NYLF Medicine & Health Care, you must be in grades 9-12 during the 2024-2025 school year. Most of our students are either nominated by educators or selected through our academic partnerships; however, we do accept a limited number of students through our application process.

At NYLF Medicine & Health Care, get the chance to step into the scrubs of a physician through activities, including: Participating in true-to-life emergency simulations like When Care is Hours Away and When Disaster Strikes. Completing practice rotations to test newly-acquired skills.

It's not super selective- while students do get nominated or contacted like you did, basically anyone with a good academic record can apply on their own. Not to mention, thousands of students are nominated, which means it isn't as selective as some of the most impressive summer programs.

While the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) Engineering program doesn't publicly disclose their acceptance rates, it should be noted that the program is generally considered less competitive compared to other highly selective leadership programs or summer programs offered by top universities.

However, the NSLC does send out a significant number of invitations to high school students across the United States. These invites are sent to students who've shown academic achievements, leadership qualities, or recommendations from high school teachers, administrators, or college admissions offices.
